Reflection on Group Project 2

This week we were supposed to check out WebCT’s chat, Voice Board, and Live Classroom features and determine if they can used in an educational environment? I found that the WebCT’s chat feature was user friendly but the Voice board and The Live Classroom was another story all together. Most of my group members had a hard time getting these features to work and some didn’t get all of them to work at all. But to my surprise I got all of them to work without any problems, which is a surprise for me because I always manage to make anything not work correctly. At the end we all came to the conclusion that these technologies can be successfully integrated into the classroom despite all the technical difficulties.

I also got my first virus on my laptop computer in years while doing this assignment. I had to reload my operating system.

Reflection on Group Project 1

Our group set up a time to meet up and discuss our project. The project is to test Google’s Gail new features; chat with video and audio and determine if it can be utilized in an educational environment.

We could chat with no problems, but the audio and video part was another story. Some group members could not get the audio/video software to install on their computers. I went back the next day and figured out how get the video/audio features to work. We met up again to discuss that paper. The paper came out pretty good considering we had so many problems.

We all agreed that Google chat could be a great resource to use in education. Google chat could open up many doors as people come up with new ways to use it.
